I was looking for some information about my old School Pleasant Street and came accross this site. It was a great little School to be at in those days and will allways stay in my memory.

Not sure if many of my old School pals will log onto the site but here goes.

I was at the School form 1955 to 1959 and then went on to SFX College. Some of the teachers at the time were Mr Shercliffe (Head) Mrs Smart (Dep) Miss Hughes, Mr Cope, Miss Pots (Music), Mr Rollinson, Miss Gregor and not forgetting Mrs Spinx who tucked us all in for our aftrenoon nap.

Some of my friends included Ronnie Mathieson (milk monitor) Angela King, Barbara Kenwright, Paul Lock (I think Pauls dad had a restaurant), David Coin, Sarah Finnigan, Daphne Coates (her mum and dad had a hotel in Mount Pleasant) and Diane Key. Sorry guys, thats all the names I can remember.

I can still see lots of faces but just can't put the names to them.

Hi. I was a pupil at Pleasant Street in and around 1974. I have some of my funniest memories from there. Loved teachers Mr. Clarke (thanks for the trips to Wales) Miss. Lamb and the headmaster Mr. Jones. As well as the dinner ladies for the leftover warm milk at the end of the day. Can't remember too many classmates from that time as we moved away, but hello to hotdog, Tonya, Michael Seagull and the girl who slept in the top bunk at camp, who soaked me on the bottom bunk when she wet the bed!! Happy days xxx

hi everyone just a short note to say how good my attendence is it is now 96.7% i think that is a great recovery from pleasant street because in pleasant street it was 87.0% so for once im proud of something me and lois hardly talk any more but we've made new mates and were all happy but all the lads speak they couldn't live without each other we all know them but we badly miss pleasant street esspecialy because were going for dinner last but ya know we've got to deal but im thiniking of moving school but dont woorie i'll always keep in touch XxXxX

I was a pupil at Pleasant Street until 1996 i have many fond memories of the school. I have only just found the website and reading through all these comments made me realise im not the only one with good memories. I always remember our leaving trip to colomendy where we had many laughs with Mr Raven. The new builing looks very nice but must admit i was a bit sad when i found out the old building had closed (I have many scars on my knees from falling over on that old school yard haha).

pleasant street is a lovely school,and i enjoy being here!

i left pleasant street school on the 23rd of july 2008 and i miss it already! I reckon this is a very good school so if you are looking for a school for september for your child this the school i think it has made me excel through life and has gave me a very good education and id like to give a big thank you to mrs cunningham,miss parkin and mr oconnor for helping me!

Hello everyone, I am a pupil in year 5 and I really like it here.

Love the site.

I am a former pupil of Pleasant Street; I first went to Pleasant Street in 1965 until I left in 1971. My time at Pleasant Street was a very multi-cultured and multi-racial experience. Our welsh music teacher Miss Jones ensured all of us multi- cultured and multi- racial kids could sing 'better than angels'. Pleasant Street was the only primary school who could field a international football team. We had pupils from Hong Kong, Fiji and Africa, the pupils from Fiji first experienced snow in our school yard. At this moment I am showing my two son's my schools history online, I am so much proud of Pleasant Street so so proud, I wish you all lots and lots of happiness.

This was my first ever school and I have many happy memories of my time here between April 1976 and October 1980. Did anyone know that the school was founded in 1818 by the Benevolent Society of St Patrick for the poor Irish children in the neighbourhood? Mind you, that may have been the old (and better one) across the road. I think that's why there were names like Joyce, Feeney, Garrett, O'Rourke and Riley when I was there. I hope that the Irish connection is still going.

I notice alby (wilson) has been here. Alby is my cousin and I remember him and his sister attending the school. I was a pupil way back in 1952 and it only feels like yesterday. My memories are of fondness and whenever I was in Liverpool I used to look at the old school. Keep up the tradition.

Delighted to discover your web site. I was a pupil at the school from start of WWII until 1946 when I won a scholarship to Liverpool Collegiate. Both schools togrether gave me a spring board to a career as a professional chartered engineer. I was last at the school just before the move to the new building and although I left a contact address I have heard nothing since. I have, still living, a 92 year old aunt who was at the school from 1920-1930 and was 'head girl'. Her photo did appear in Liverpool Echo at about time old building closed down.
